A typical family might consist of one set of parents (mom & dad) and two children.  From the perspective of the children, when asked to create a family tree, they should be able to correctly list themselves, their siblings, each one of their parents, and their grandparents.  When they make their tree 8 people will be listed.  If research is conducted, that number could easily grow to 16 and even more.  Once every research avenue has been exhausted, which adds additional people to your family tree, there are many people for you or your child to recall.  Remembering the names of people found throughout your family tree can be a very daunting task.
Do Not be overwhelmed and make learning your family history fun, by making your very own Ancestor Trading Cards.  By writing on each card the information will be stored in your memory.  These cards can be used as an easy quick reference guide when discussing family history with your immediate or extended families.  Included are two types of templates, a double-sided and a single sided version.

There are two template options.  Option 1 folds in half, and Option 2 is a single piece. 

Directions for completing an Ancestor Trading card from a template.  Fill in the information in the spaces provided.  It is recommended to cut the photo you would like to use into an oval for the best placement and to use a copy of a photo, rather than an original photo.  Using scissors or paper cutter, carefully cut around the border of the template.  Important note when using option 1, DO NOT CUT the middle between the halves.
Once you have completed the card laminating the card will help make the card more durable and you will be able to leave them out in a container (bowl, dish, box without lid, etc.) in any room in your house.
