He married Kate De Losey (1^st wife) on December 26, 1848 in East Liberty, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He married Grace Ashton (2^nd wife) on May 18, 1869 in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.
