John Jacob Van der Kemp, b. 22 Apr 1783 in Leyden, Holland, d. 1855, son of Francis Adrian Vander Kemp & Reinira Engelbertha Johanna Vos. He married Frances Taylor (1^st wife) in 1804. He married Eliza Duffield Hepburn (2^nd wife) on January 21, 1825 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
